ROURKE, Howard “Howie” 1938 - 2024 Surrounded by family on May 8th, 2024, Howard passed away suddenly at the age of 85. Dearly loved by his wife of 63 years, Bernice, his children Rick (Vicki), Wendy, Melany (Karl), grand-children Alexis, Kristina (Sebastien), Tyler, Olivia, Lily, Gavin, and great-grandchildren Joon, Ekau, Eliblue and Louo. Devoted brother to Odlum, Pearl (late), Walter (late), and David. Adored uncle, cherished friend, beloved by many. “Howie” was well known and respected in the investment field for his career as a bond trader, and on the ice as a skilled playmaker. He enjoyed golf, walks, playing cards, reading on many subjects, and spending time with family. His way with children was simply magical. The challenges he overcame as a younger man allowed his successes to follow. He supported his family unconditionally, always their biggest fan. Howie was there for others as well - compassionate, encouraging and accepting. He served as an example and an inspiration, and this is his legacy. Will be missed most of all for the man he was - kind, generous, good-natured, spontaneous, spiritual, and with an unmatched sense of humour. A beautiful man with a blessed life.
