Pilon, Gilbert March 14, 1942 – April 20, 2026 Resident of Rawdon, Gilbert passed away peacefully, surrounded by his 3 children Joanne (Bill), Martine and Ronald. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marie Pilon Lachapelle in 1998. Gilbert will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Kyle (Jo), Jessica (Brad), Samantha (Cam), Mathew (Desirée), Nicolas (Marie), Shayne and Samuel (Tabatha). He will also be missed by his two great-granddaughters Kali and Keira. Gilbert also leaves behind his long-time friend and companion Margo Bouchard. Gilbert was a native of Montréal and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 18 and selflessly served his country for 27 years. He then went on to work for Marconi Canada for another 18 years until settling down to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. As many of you know, Gilbert was not one to sit around, so his retirement was filled with activities including golf, boating, bowling and dance. He volunteered his time to support the Royal Canadian Legion Rawdon Branch #198, multiple districts of the Knights of Columbus, and La Fadoc. His dedication to these organizations was unmatched, pouring his heart and soul into the work he performed. Gilbert also travelled regularly to spend time with family in Alberta, Ontario and within Quebec. Gilbert was a kind and generous soul and left a lasting impression to everyone who crossed his path. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all the staff at the CHRDL and the Pavillion de soins palliatifs et de fin de vie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pavillion de soins palliatifs et de fin de vie, Sainte Charles Borromée. Forever in Our Hearts A funeral service will take place from St Patricks church, 3759 Queen street Rawdon on Thursday April  23rd at 12 pm, followed by a reception at the Rawdon Golf club. The family  will receive friends starting at 11 am. Legion service will be held at 11 am and the Chevaliers Colomb & FADOQ will hold a service at 11:30 am from the church. There will also be a visitation from White & Sons funeral home , 3555 Metcalfe street, Rawdon, corner of 3rd Ave., Wednesday evening from 7 pm - 9pm
