Margareth Varpalotai nee Monz

Margareth (Omi) Monz Varpalotai 1927 - 2022 Margareth Monz Varpalotai (Omi), wife of the late Julius Varpalotai Sr (Apu), mother to the late Julius Varpalotai Jr, peacefully passed on Sunday August 14th 2022. Omi came to Montreal with Apu in 1951 from England after fleeing Tirol, Austria during World War II with hopes of building a better life. And they did. Together, they worked the busy tables of Downtown Montreal, with Omi serving at Pam Pam's for 25 years. They eventually retired in Rawdon and enjoyed the simple things in life: Good food, good company, and walks in the sunshine. She always had a strong coffee ready for anyone who stopped by to enjoy a conversation or a game of cards. She is survived by her grandchildren Maria, Laurie, James and Julie Varpalotai, and her great grandchildren Theo, Logan, Julia, and Nolan, as well as her brothers in Austria, Walter and Emil (Biwi). In her final years, she resided at the wonderderful Villa Des Chutes in Rawdon. During this time, Omi was blessed to have close family friend Christine Wagner by her side. Christine provided love, care, company, compassion, and humanity to Omi when her grandchildren could not be there. The entire Varpalotai clan is forevever in her debt. A viewing will be held at the White & Son's Funeral Home in Rawdon, QC, on Friday August 19th from 10:00-11:00hrs. Burial to follow.
