Rita Szathmary

Rita Szathmary, daughter to the late Gyula Szathmary and the late Ilona Szathmary (nee Horvath) and sister to the late Thomas Szathmary, passed suddenly, yet peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of January 16th, 2024. Survived by Fiancee Dean Nobes as well as Rebecca Szathmary (Jared Provencher) and grandson Xavier, Jessica Szathmary (Paul Rossetti) and grandson Andy, Marcello Szathmary-Cecere, Luciano Szathmary-Cecere, William Szathmary-Nobes and Danielle Szathmary-Nobes. A celebration of life will be held on February 10th, 2024 from 11AM to 1PM, followed by brief reception at White and Sons Funeral Home 3555 Rue Metcalfe, Rawdon, QC. Coffee, Tea, and snacks will be served. Rita attended Dawson College in the 1980's where she studied nursing, chemical technology, and psychology. After running a successful home business, she joined Jaguar Media as a sales executive and enjoyed travelling the country and meeting new people. When the pandemic struck, Rita left this sucessful career and returned to the medical field as a PAB at CHSLD Fernand Laroque in Laval, Qc in order to do what she considered her duty to help take care of the most vulnerable in society, where she continued to care for others up to her passing.
