Shirley Rourke (nee Clayton)

Shirley Ann Rourke (Nee Clayton) Born September 4th, 1932, passed away April 28th, 2022 in Rawdon, Quebec. Loving wife of late Gordon James Rourke (1925 – 2021). Loving mother to Randall (Donna), Jeffrey, Graham and Shawn (Dawn). Dearest Grandmother to Ryan, Justin (Lyndsay), Emma (Matt), Kristen (Anthony), Alison (Olivier), Owen, Charlotte, Avery and Madelyn. Great Grandmother to Grace. She is also survived by her brothers Neil (Rowena), Grant (Ann) and sister Margaret. Pre-deceased by her sister Claire (Tinkler) and brother Peter. Born and raised on her family farm in Rawdon, Shirley left home as a teenager to attend Montreal High School and after graduation she worked at Bell and Zellers while raising her 4 boys in N.D.G. After retiring with husband ‘Bubsy’ back to Rawdon, Shirley was active in the Wexford Church and was a busy volunteer to many other local organizations. She loved to bowl, play cards and support her beloved Habs . Along with her sister Claire – she was a wild strawberry picker extraordinaire – those homemade, ‘up country’ pies and jams are going to be forever missed. Thanks to all the staff at Les Jardins Rawdon and the CHSLD Heather. A graveside service will be held on Sunday September 4th at Christ Church at 11 am.
